Engine Tanker 5 is a 2019 Pierce Arrow XT Custom Pumper built on a TAC 4 independent front suspension, with seating for six personnel. The unit is powered by a 525hp Detroit Diesel DD13 engine coupled with an Allison Gen V, 6 speed automatic transmission. The unit has a Waterous 1,500 g.p.m. single stage pump with a 2500 gallon poly tank. A 10-inch Newton electric powered Kwik-dump is located in the rear of the unit. Engine Tanker 5 also has front & side air bags for crew safety and protection. There are three pre-connected front bumper lines, two 1 ¾” at 200′ and a 1 ½” trash line at 100′. There is also one 200′ 2 ½” cross-lay and one 1 ¾” 300′ rear attack line. Engine Tanker 5 also carries 600′ of 3″ line and 1,500′ of 4″ LDH and assorted appliances. A Harrison 3.6 KW generator supplies electrical power to the emergency scene through a 200′ electrical cord reel. The unit features all LED emergency lighting as well as LED scene lighting mounted on the front brow, on each side and in the rear. Engine Tanker 5 key equipment features include: six (6) SCBA w/ spare cylinders, Bullard QXT thermal imaging camera, Elkhart R.A.M. monitor, two portable Streamlight battery operated LED scene lights, Blow Hard BH20 battery operated PPV fan, Stihl MS271 chainsaw and assorted hand tools. Engine Tanker 5 is the first piece of apparatus in Church Hill history to feature a black-over-yellow paint scheme. An updated graphics package including a black and gold patch is also featured on the unit. Engine Tanker 5 is typically first-due to all fire related incidents in non-hydrant areas and third due to rescue incidents. It was placed in service on February 24, 2020.
