The Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company operates one fire station (Company 5), which is located in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It is one of nine Fire Companies in the County that is staffed by an all volunteer force of firefighters and emergency medical service providers. We are supported by the Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services which provides both ALS & BLS units operating out of four sites countywide, a County Fire Marshal, a County Emergency Management Division and our County’s 911/Communications Center.
Company 5 is located in the 1st Battalion which is comprised of the three Fire Companies located in northern Queen Anne’s County. The first due area includes light commercial, residential, historic, rural and agricultural areas. The area is bordered on the north end by Kent County, Maryland who we provide mutual aid to on a regular basis. The area is bordered on the east side by Caroline County, Maryland who we provide mutual aid to on a regular basis. The area to the west side is bordered by the Chester River, where we protect miles of shoreline. Our response area also includes eight miles of U.S. Route 301 which is a heavily traveled north-south corridor of commuter traffic as well as hazardous materials shipments.
